The American Baseball Coaches Association will consider several changes that would be in place for 2022.
In a nut shell:
1. Increase the active roster size to 35 players. Up from 27. 2. Be allowed to distribute the 11.7 scholarships any way they choose. Eliminate the 25% rule to all 27 players. 3. Increase the number of scholarships from 11.7 to 15. NCAA and Institution decision and approval needed. 4. Fully paid third assistant coach. Up from the current two. 5. Allow redshirting players to play some games. Currently it is zero but football allows 4 games and basketball, 8 games.
What are your thoughts?

All items are positive , but given the game and travel load , I would love to see baseball get full scholly’s for the whole squad! Use ‘em if you have to , because most of the OSU guys seem to also qualify for academic scholarships ! Football has 85 full scholly’s , and they may play only 12-13 games per year ! I know, the driver is revenue… Solution: play the baseball games inside RESER. ( half way kidding ) !

You give baseball 27 schollies and we have to add 1-2 women's sports. With the losses in the Athletic Dept during last year, this is not the time to do that.

Scholarships added for one men's sport either have to come out of the other men's sports or matched one-for-one on the women's side. Bumping baseball scholarships from 11.7 to 27 would require funding 30.6 new scholarships. Obviously that's not going to happen.

I am wondering how the upcoming NCAA constitutional convention will affect this discussion.

Ahh - title 9 ! Seems to me that there are some big changes coming and that the NCAA is now powerless and unable to draw up and/ or enforce their draconian measures !

Title IX is Federal Law. The NCAA currently controls scholarship caps and how scholarships are counted. The NCAA sets scholarship rules, which comply with Title IX. If the NCAA changes its rules, there could be huge indirect Title IX impacts.
