Part of the package for Krimbel. Nick’s game fits the NL game better. Sox just traded a future all star and hall of famer

Issue may be that if you can't score runs - the closer is not worth a hell of a lot !

Maybe the Cubs with this trade will finally make up for the Ernie Broglio deal.

Issue may be that if you can't score runs - the closer is not worth a hell of a lot ! Nick wasn't gonna help the White Sox score any more runs this season. They just got Cesar Hernandez from Cleveland the day before the traded Nick. And Chicago ranks 6th of 15 in the AL in offense. Now it has a great 1-2 punch of closers with Liam Hendricks. The AL Central's playoff record over the last decade or so is abysmal. ChiSox needed to bolster their pitching to win now, they did. This is a good trade for Nick. If you're gonna play in Chicago, the Cubs are by far the more popular team. And they just picked uip9 of the top 41 MLB prospects in their fire sale of Rizzo, Baez and Bryant, big-money guys who were underperforming.

Also less likely to get shot or car jacked on your way to a game on the north side

He’s hurt anyway right ?…. As far helping White Sox this year …. Trading for KIMBREL makes some sense for White Sox.

Maybe the Cubs with this trade will finally make up for the Ernie Broglio deal. For those that don't know, Ernie Broglio was traded for Lou Brock in 1964. Broglio went 18-8 in 1963 with a 2.99 ERA. Brock on the other hand was known to be fast but was only a .251 hitter in 1964. The trade was seen as a steal for the Cubs at the time. However, St. Louis worked on getting Brock to concentrate more on getting on base than showing off his warning-track power. Brock subsequently set the career stolen base record (subsequently broken by Ricky Henderson in 1991), played in six All-Star games and led the Cardinals to three World Series and two World Series Championships. Brock's #20 is retired, and he was a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 1985. Unlike the Cubs, the Cardinals believed that Broglio's best years were behind him and were proven correct, as Broglio went 7-19 for the Cubs with a 5.40 ERA before retiring. The trade is now seen as a steal for the Cardinals.

I was in a sports bar in Chicago when the trade was announced. White Sox fans liked Nick but want to win now. Cubs fans were laughing at the Sox for giving away their future.
Then someone notices I was wearing a 2018 CWS championship shirt...
