Seems like it is mostly sports commentators repeating other sports commentators opinion that USC would be best off in big 10 in the coming wave of realignment. Have yet to see anyone saying this is likely based off inside sources. Seems logistically extremely difficult for all the non-revenue sports with the travel requirements. Commentators skip over this by saying bring some other Pac-12 AAU schools along for the ride (9 of 12 pac 12 schools are AAU, OSU ,WSU, ASU are not) As a big ten grad I think it would be awesome if we let penn state go to the ACC (rumors) combined with the pac 12, took a few big 12 teams for geographic logistic reasons .. then went to a four pod mega conference to neutralize the south trying to replace the NCAA. Pac west Pac east (some big 12 schools and maybe Nebraska) Big ten west Big ten east

Try and get Notre Dame on board. Add Oklahoma State and Kansas. Maybe Houston and Texas Tech? Iowa State? Teams that work out of the Big 12 and any upper tier mid-majors that are actual Universities. Isolate the ACC and SEC.

Sorry.. there are two belief models… 1) the big ten believes the Sec is trying to replace the ncaa .. then they’d try to do what I said. 2) the big ten doesn’t believe that.. then yes they’d do what you said.. Penn state supposedly wants out whether the big ten wants them or not. Notre dame to me will never join the big ten or any other conference. Iowa is supposedly dead set against ever allowing Iowa state in but who knows .. if it was just 14 becoming 18 I’d like Kansas, Oklahoma state, Texas tech and another school and let you guys take what you wanted from the rest.. presuming they didn’t want to go to you guys more. I think NIL is about to seriously boost the stature of the pac 12

I think NIL is about to seriously boost the stature of the pac 12 At some point, Notre Dame is going to have to come to its senses. Each team in the ACC is making more than the Irish. Notre Dame could negotiate a better deal with the Big Ten than anyone. If they join the Big Ten-Pac-10 Alliance, they would be in the same conference as six of their 10 biggest rivals: USC, Purdue, Michigan State, Northwestern, Michigan and Stanford. Well, F Iowa State then. They can go find a conference on their own. If we can get Notre Dame with the Big Ten and Pac-12 and the best 3-4 teams in the Big 12 and 1-2 mid majors, we may really have something. Sign up ABC, Fox and NBC to televise games. Leave the other two Power Five conferences to play some games on CBS and a random early morning Pacific game on ESPN every once in awhile.
