link, sink, dink, fink, kink... I still don't know how to do it. It's easy to do with a desktop or laptop but god help you if you try to do it from a smartphone.

I'm sure it is easy if you know how to do it. I don't have a clue, so it is neither easy nor hard; it's impossible, based on my current knowledge level.

Make that 8th and she was in 12th before the final floor event so she made a huge leap.

Carey's OSU bio says her aunt and uncle are Eric Ory and Jenna Stark (Ory). Eric was a receiver on the about 85 - 88 teams. I don't remember him ever being a starter. Jenna is from Corvallis (Crescent Valley HS) and held the OSU records in 100HH and 400IH. Most hurdlers are at least average height and above. Jenna is maybe 5'3. She was fast but looked out of place going over hurdles.

Truly incredible perserverance from Carey after her struggles on the vault a day before. Well deserved and an incredible performance.

Truly incredible perserverance from Carey after her struggles on the vault a day before. Well deserved and an incredible performance. Holy smokes!! That's truly amazing. WTG Jade!! One little side benefit to Jade qualifying as an individual rather than a team member was that she was able to be accompanied by her coach - who is, in her case, her Dad. The only US women's gymnast who was able to have a parent in attendance in Tokyo. Looking at her routine, she performed it about as flawlessly as she was capable of. That in and of itself is a triumph, regardless of the medal. To perform to your best at the most important moment.

I don't know nutting about nuttin so forgive me a (stupid) question. Is there a pro gymnastic circuit? Is there a possibility that Jade goes "Pro". I think I heard Cirque Solie has gymnastics members. Barnum & Bailey? Or is she allowed to go back to the Olympics if she is "Pro"? I would think so....because NBA players. Probably too early to tell. Just wondering if she shows up on campus.

According to Tanya Chaplin Jade is currently attending classes, she didn’t participate in college this year due to Olympic team demands. Jade is listed on the 2021 team roster.

So, 'perhaps', in this type of case .... it makes sense to go the college route ( NIL ? ). Plus, no negative on Jade , but it seems like just in the US Gymnastics area.... there are a number of athletes that can dilute the dollar pool for all of them ! I also have zero idea about PRO options , however , it seems that those options flip into a category referred to as entertainment versus sport . Totally different grind and demands , but may provide a longer financial runway . If it were me, I would do the College thing and opt into several one off , one and done product endorsements. Then go for any professional contract that may be available to her. Certainly her call and personal preferences ! I look at Dick Fosbury and recall that he, more or less went the same track - however, he was in his senior year at OSU when he won the gold, participated in a professional track career, then went on to utilize his success in the Engineering field ( he was a great student ), as his Profession - while, at the same time, doing very tasteful and select NIL types of activities up to and including this year . That would be a good reference point for me !

Simone Biles (referenced in an earlier post) is putting together a touring group of gymnasts for this fall - but for me I wanna have the triple-double Jade Carey burger at the Angry Beaver
