Oregon State has put together a stellar class for 2023, one that I think will be nationally ranked. Having said that, we do not have that superstar that would rank in the top-9 of all Western recruits. The following is a list of the West's 9 best with their national ranking included.
1. Dean West, a 5-9, 165 pound flyer from Sherman Oaks, CA. HS A CF, has ++ warp speed and excellent bat control. Is committed to UCLA. Had Oregon State in his top-5 for over a year. Ranked #8 nationally.
2. Steven Milam, a 5-8, 155 pound switch hitting SS from Las Cruces, N.M.-Centennial HS. Slick fielder, hi-average contact hitter. Committed to LSU. Ranked #11 nationally.
3. Nick Sanders, a 6-1, 190 pound Catcher from Las Vegas, NV. HS. Agile, athletic with Big Power. Committed to Texas. Ranked #15 nationally.
4. Austin Roellig, a 5-11, 165 pound SS from Rancho Cucamonga, CA.-Etiwanda HS Good glove, high baseball IQ and sprays line drives all over the field. Flipped his 3 year commit from Arizona to LSU. Ranked #19 nationally. Same HS as OSU's Wade Meckler.
5. Roch Cholowsky, a 6-2, 190 pound SS out of Chandler, AZ.-Hamilton HS. Contact hitter, some developing power. Committed to UCLA. Ranked #29 nationally. OSU's 2022 recruit, Gavin Turley's teammate.
6. Zach Wadas, a 6-4, 200 pound 1B from Brophy Prep in Phoenix, AZ. Good glove, is L/L and has big power. Committed to TCU. Ranked #31 nationally. Teammate of '23 OSU recruit, RHP James DeCremer.
7. Cal Randall, a 6-3, 185 pound RHP from Concord, CA.-De LaSalle HS. Has 3 effective pitches and touched 95 as a Soph. UCLA Commit. Ranked #43 nationally.
8. Eric Bitonti, a 6-1, 195 pound SS from San Bernardino, CA.-Aquinas Catholic HS. 15 years old, big arm, big power and big future.

9. Derek Schaeffer, a 6-2, 170 pound RHP from Scottsdale, AZ.-Cactus Shadows HS. Another 15 year old with good command, a good slider and has touched 91 mph. Ranked # 49 nationally. Committed to Washington.
