If all 31 players that are eligible to return for the 2022 season show up for fall practice . . . . and all 19 recruits make it to Corvallis, we have 50 players participating in fall ball. With what we know today, that's the best I can do.
Any other calculations or revelations ?

That means 8 position players and 42 pitchers 😜
Realistically, it seems that 15 will not make the roster. There are going to be some very tough decisions to be made because the new class coming in, was rated at #16 in the Country ( class of 10 ), although we lost gambler , from Canada - so we are at 9 - plus, we have Melton, Forrester, Meckler , Boyd, Dukart, Dernedde, Fuchs from a relatively successful 2021 for each of them !
There are some high quality, consistent performers, coming in - that will vie for immediate playing time..
Bazzana - IF/OF
Guerra - IF
Reed - OF
Smith - C, IF
Trotsky - IF
PITCHING
Carpenter RHP
Case - LHP
Kmatz - RHP
Quinn - RHP
That, above, is a pretty strong group and combining them with only the above listed returnee's, puts the roster at 16 - so 19 more guys to get folded in .

Overall, more talent then the last few years. It's a good problem to have. Big picture, I could see an Omaha quality team in the next few seasons if recruits develop as planned

My money is on Wilson Weber to win the catching job.

Going to be an interesting battle behind the plate .
A complete catcher can hit opposite field and go long (frequently )
Can work with ALL pitchers
Has great defensive ability with a rifle arm ( pick to pop )
Can hit anywhere in the lineup
Is durable
