What sort of High School sports environment was David Grewe competing in?
Washington, like Oregon, has 6 classification levels. Tri-Cities Prep is a 2B School (enrollment 105 - 224) with 119 students. They compete in the EWAC, with Goldendale being the largest school. Washington 2B is the second lowest classification, similar to Oregon's 2A (think Waldport, Monroe, Oakridge).
His summer team (2020) was Reign Baseball 18U.

For baseball, 2A is the lowest level in Oregon. When my son played at Yoncalla, class 1A, their league was a 2A league (Reedsport, Oakland, Glide, Umpqua Valley Christian, Gold Beach and few others). They also played 3A schools in non-league games.

Thanks! Such an informative article, not just about Grewe, but about Jorge Reyes as well. I'll never forget that Jorge Reyes was the 'freshman wonder' pitcher in Omaha, a decade+ before Kevin Abel achieved that status.

Very cool! Some of these late offer guys have turned out to be pretty good. Sam Gaviglio and Brandon Eisert both come to mind.
