Some sources had both Abel and (incoming) Kmatz in the #130's draft pick range. Right now they've passed 150, and neither has been picked.

This has been a strange draft so far, a happy one if you are a high school shortstop tho.

Abel just went in the 7th round to the Reds Abel 210th overall. Slot value $213,300 bonus. Currently down to #237, with a slot value of 175,000...and no other Beavs/Recruits, yet.

Abel just went in the 7th round to the Reds Abel 210th overall. Slot value $213,300 bonus. I wonder if he couldn't make more in NIL staying with the Beavs for another year? The guy won a College World Series, I think he could get an agent who could figure out a way to make him NIL $$$ that would rival that, and if he has a great year next year, he could then score some real slot money? At the very least I think the NIL gives him some bargaining power with the Reds.

Reds drafted 1 HS kid, 1 JC kid and 4 college Seniors, so they *should* have plenty of bonus pool money to pay Abel slot or over slot.
