One of the nine writers for D1Baseball.com has the Beavers as one of his eight of Omaha 2022. Aaron Fitt was at the DFW Regional so he got a good look at the Beavs at the end of the season. A weekend rotation of Hjerpe, Pfennigs, and Frisch could be one of the best in the nation next year. Plus a bullpen headlined by Watkins, Salgado, Mundt, Burns and some fresh faces will be very stout. Can we find a reliable backstop as well as more offensive consistency? If so, we will likely be the P12 favorite and have the inside track to a national seed.

The writers seem to think Stanford will be the favorite. Oregon got one mention...don't know why, as they lose a lot of hitters and possibly their entire weekend rotation.

Stanford has a nice collection of young hitters coming back, but they lose Beck and have a ton of questions marks with the rest of the their pitching staff. I think by the time next season rolls around, most of the D1 staff will cool on them a touch. And Sorenson is a total wildcard. Oregon will be average next year.

Possibly those 3 starters will all be back but wouldn't surprise me to see Frisch gone in the draft. And there is no way all 4 of those bullpen arms will be back. Wouldn't surpise me to see only Mundt back from that list of 4 you mentioned.

Only Frisch would be a potential top 10 round guy, but he could be a top 2/3 rounder if he comes back and has a strong 2022 campaign.

I do know Baseball "mock drafts" and draft predictions are annually wildly inaccurate past the 1st round and every year many guys are drafted way higher than projected. We will see I guess

As D-1 noted, with the uncertainty of the upcoming draft, and the transfer portal, they are holding off on any detailed analysis of their "Eight For Omaha". That will come later in the Summer. And indeed, Frisch is the leading candidate to leave and change the Beavers prospects for 2022 Omaha. Baseball America just put out an article "11 Sleepers To Know Entering 2021 MLB Draft" - Number 1 on their list: Will Frisch (Ranked 155th)...."as a draft-eligible sophomore he could be a tough sign. But..."

He deserves the opportunity to experience the feel of taking the mound from the first inning on in an important weekend series against a Pac-12 rival, with Goss full and rocking. I'm told from a pitchers perspective there is nothing quite like it.

The end result for the Pac 12 this year wasn't what I anticipated, but when you put Stanford and Arizona in the same bracket, well, someone's going home early. That said, Stanford lost a heartbreaker, so props to them.
I like that we are being considered as a team that has the potential to advance to Omaha next year. Being in that conversation year in and year out is what will keep the legacy alive and make recruiting easier. But the draft, the transfer portal, and the shrinking of the roster size are going to leave a lot of prognosticating sports columnists eating crow.
Baseball is a funny game.

I think our coaches would tell you they could not fill out a 2022 lineup card today. There are so many uncertainties with this draft, the portal, and looming roster reduction, it is near immpossible to accurately project a '22 roster and lineup at this point in time.
Until we know who has been drafted or signed in free agency, who is transferring, and who survived the fall cuts, we can't predict much of anything.
Factors in play: Ncaa's one-time transfer rule (portal), bloated Covid riosters that must be trimmed, Unpredictability of MLB drafting/signing of returning roster players, drafting/signing from our recruiting class, and fall practice performances.
You want Coach Canham's job?

You want Coach Canham's job? The smaller draft and the after draft $25,000 take it or leave it signing bonus is going to have a lot of kids rethinking their options once the draft is over - going to be a lot of sausage made as bloated rosters and a continuing bubble of older players greet the newbies come Fall camp. This is going to be a real "hold the team together" time for most coaches as they try to smooth the waters.
