Has Washburn officially left? How does that work? He could be a helluva closer for us He's gone already. Where'd he end up?

As of five days ago, he is still officially at Oregon State but also still in the portal. Three days ago, Jack Washburn picked up the loss in the Stars v. Stripes game in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Washburn gave up eight earned runs on seven hits, two walks and three wild pitches in 1.2 innings with three strikeouts. Stars 8 - Stripes 3.

Word on the street is he's waiting until the Team USA stuff is done to make a couple more visits and then decide. Has it down to 6 schools. 3 SEC and 3 Big 12

One of the nine writers for D1Baseball.com has the Beavers as one of his eight of Omaha 2022. Aaron Fitt was at the DFW Regional so he got a good look at the Beavs at the end of the season. A weekend rotation of Hjerpe, Pfennigs, and Frisch could be one of the best in the nation next year. Plus a bullpen headlined by Watkins, Salgado, Mundt, Burns and some fresh faces will be very stout. Can we find a reliable backstop as well as more offensive consistency? If so, we will likely be the P12 favorite and have the inside track to a national seed. This post did not age well... Watkins, Salgado and Burns all drafted...

In the sense that those three got drafted, you are correct. In fact, I revived this thread specially to acknowledge that. Still, we keep Pfenninfs, Frisch, and Mundt. I’ll take those 3 over the 3 that were drafted everyday of the week.

Look at what we lost compared to the quacks for instance....Zavala, Yovan, Ahlstrom, Kafka, Mathews.
With our incoming class, and pitching depth, still......I think we look pretty solid next season

There’s also guys like Townsend, Hunter, Thorstein, Lafferty, and Keyes who could make a jump and be key pieces out of the pen.

In the interest of not turning the spelling of a player(s) name into a 'Cadyn Grenier' type situation: It's "LATTERY" and "THORSTEINSON" >>> Looking forward to the late-Summer 2021 arrivals in Corvallis of RHP's Carpenter, Kmatz and Quinn, and LHP David Case.

Haha I figured I was getting them wrong, but I was too lazy to look up the roster. If they become solid contributors in 2022, I promise to spell them correctly!!!

In limited innings he showed pretty good last season.

I really like the team for 2022. I spoke to Mitch's dad in late November 2019, and he said it would take Mitch a few years to have "HIS" team. We played lots of young players late in the season, and managing an expanded roster has to be a tough chore for any college coach. I like the future and root for Mitch personally...he has always been one of my favorites.
