Not saying I disagree with it. Every athlete knows what the banned substances are so there's really no excuse to fail a test. But still, snowboarders..

Respecting rules helps to keep competition fair. Even though some rules seem out of date or unnecessary, they still apply until they are changed.
A rules anecdote---Several years ago, I served as scoutmaster in Denver. One year at summer camp, I had several first-year campers. There were camp safety rules against throwing things, running at night, etc. Following a few incidents, I gathered the boys together to explain that rules were part of everyday life, including sports, computer games, and many other things did daily. One young philosopher with a quizzical look replied with all sincerity, "There's no rules for when you're just screwin' around."
I had no answer.

The evidence is conflicting as to whether marijuana is a performance enhancing drug. Most studies suggest that is not and may actually be a performance inhibitor. On the other hand, there are a lot of athletes who use it and say it is a performance enhancer (but don't necessarily use that phrase) in many ways that people don't think about, such as a sleep aid, a pain recovery aid, an aid to appetite, and a source of focus that can aid in workouts.

WADA spokesmen clarify stance on marijuana’s classification as a PID.
Are we clear?
