Raised his bat ave. to .337. Been a starter for the past several weeks, mostly at 3B and SS.

Hope they keep falling in for DB. He's always been a good contact hitter, usually always less than 20% Ks. If he can keep that up along with playing 3b - 2b - ss at the level he has, he should stick around for a long time. He wasn't appreciated by the Cubs and the Dodgers just plain screwed him over. For some reason Mattingly just didn't like him and I don't think he would have played him if he hit .400. I wonder what players think about playing in Canada.

As in playing or as in taxes? If the latter I've read several articles that taxes are not even an issue. The US actually (39.6% + 2.35% Medicare + any state/local taxes) has a higher upper end tax rate than Canada (29% + provincial taxes) unless you're in Toronto (totals over 49%). And there is a tax treaty, you only pay federal taxes one place or the other and get tax breaks for any taxes you pay in the other. But, even in the US unless you're playing in Texas and Florida there are higher tax liabilities when shifting teams. With all the $ changing hands negotiations get every penny taken care of. And of course, playing MLB anywhere is a good deal!

And even beyond what you stated, the impact is less. Only half his games are in Toronto and that's on what he pays Canadian taxes. He also has to file in every state he plays games, so therefore, California, Massachusetts, New York, Maryland and so on.
I'm not sure how this works for ballplayers, but a few years ago I was considering working in Qatar. One of the advantages is that roughly the first $120K you make out of the country, USA does not take an income tax. In this case, Qatar did not have an income tax.

So basically every away game 1/162nd or 1/82nd is taxed federal, state, and local municipality. Good gawd... we know who really makes the $$ from these guys!! LOL I think I watched a doc on Shaq and he had like 13 CPAs and accountants for various functions of his endeavors...

I guess you're saying that Ol' Darwin isn't going to sit down one evening with Turbo Tax and have his taxes figured and electronically filed while sipping on his favorite beverage.
