Stanford blew the hell up in the Top of the 9th. Now 10 to 4, one out and bases still loaded.

Well dang, Stanford loses 10-4
Where was that second base umpire for us in 2005?

Stanford didn't bring their "A" game today. Uncharacteristic fielding errors, failure to put runners on base early, and some questionable pitching. Not a good day for the Cardinal.
NC State were opportunists, Beck made location mistakes and they made him pay. One example; they had a scouting report on Butler but went away from it. In his at bats, he whiffed on two fastballs low and away and was frozen on two others. His hits came when Beck and Grech tried to come inside on him - he has a fast bat and wheeled on the inside location, a pull hitter's dream. He's a dead "puller", he wants to turn on the pitch and can't easily do that with a low and outside location. His bleacher blast also came on an attempt to come inside.
The Card have their work cut out for them in this losers bracket.
Judging from today, I don't think either the Wolfpack or Stanford have the pitching to hold up against Arizona and Vanderbilt in this bracket. NC State can swing their bats but the defense and pitching look somewhat susopect for CWS play. The real question for me is, was Arkansas overrated?

Too Late Nate. Vandy ties it up with a homer in the 4th.
