Nice Thickhead, thanks for the effort ! It does make me feel good , again, about her , although seeing Sasha stings a little. I'm hoping Greta will help me forget about her.
In the USC game that fake pass to the corner was epic, so open after that.

Damn good!!!
She is going to drive opponents crazy with her ability to bring the playground inside. Some of her moves have to flat out embarrass the other team.

Two things that TVO already has down that Aleah had problems with. Rebounding and the lob pass inside. Going to be fun to watch TVO progress.

TVO at UOI guess I had sharing option set incorrectly Love her drive against 6'-7" Sedona Prince for 2. 0:27 in the clip. And Mikesell's exasperated reaction at 0:42. Does Prince slap TVO on the head at 1:08?

Talia's versatility and playmaking always stand out. With her combination of size and skill, she can play 1-3 pretty well. I think we'll see Adams come in and take some pressure off of Talia and allow her to focus on scoring and playmaking off the ball at times. Greta has similar versatility and is also a big time playmaker. Both can deliver passes into our bigs with excellent precision. I thought we were really missing playmakers at times last year outside of Aleah, and I think Greta and Talia (and maybe even Téa) will help really help there.
There will be some bumps in the road, but it will be a lot of fun having those two run the show for the next four years.

I'll be the first to admit I haven't watched enough of her game, or A.J.'s to have a good handle on how well they will play. I had watched quite a bit of Shasha's pre Oregon State play, and there was no doubt in my mind she was going to start from the beginning. I hope Greta does show she is "a big time playmaker". To answer the original question, after watching what she was able to do in her short time last season, I expect her to have a strong season. She's a much better passer and shooter than I expected. I knew she was a good one on one player, but I underestimated the rest of her game. There is every reason to believe that she will have a really good year, but the Beavs are going to need scoring threats, and ball handlers to help take some pressure off her. With all the new players this season, it will be interesting to see who steps up and earns playing time.

I think in just that short time last season, Talia demonstrated that she will be the straw that stirs the drink for the next 4 years. There is a very good chance she'll be our most impactful player since Syd, and might have that same ability to just stick a dagger into an opponent's heart. And, no disrespect to those who played with Sydney and what they accomplished, she's going to be surrounded by better players than Syd was.
I'm sorry that Sasha bailed, but I think we'll be just fine with the players we have. Looking forward to Gill rocking once again!

And, no disrespect to those who played with Sydney and what they accomplished, she's going to be surrounded by better players than Syd was. Sydney was indeed the key to the Beavs' three consecutive PAC-12 regular seasons titles during her final three seasons in Corvallis. However, she did have some help in 2015-2016 PAC-12 Player of the Year Jamie Weisner, 6'6" shotblocker Ruth Hamblin, the 6'5" future first round WNBA draft pick Marie Gulich, and two-time All-PAC-12 player and the program's all-time leading rebounder Mikayla Pivec. All four of Sydney's teammates were drafted #25 or better in their respective WNBA drafts. If Talia ends up having four or more teammates that are drafted #25 or better during the next four WNBA drafts, then I would hope that the Beavs can produce at least one PAC-12 regular season title during Talia's time in Corvallis.

Unfortunately, we're in the same league as Stanford. We don't have uber-athletic skilled bigs like Haley Jones and Cameron Brink. We could have the #2 team in the country and still lose the Pac-12. Like USC in basketball during UCLA's heydays: USC with Paul Westphal had the consensus #2 MBB team in the nation and couldn't even get into the NCAA playoffs. With a little luck and great coaching, we should have a shot, but Talia could easily end her career without a championship. But then again, we don't really know how high Talia, Greta, Beers, et.al. can fly....

Thanks so much for the clips thickhead. I think as the chemistry of the team comes together, TvO will have great success. Both her own scoring and lots of assists for her teammates. She certainly plays with a team approach.
GO BEAVS!

thickhead - thanks for posting the highlight reels...they really bring home Talia's set of skills.....
I was one of those fans who was slow to warm up to her game - even when she delivered good numbers, it was difficult for me to see exactly how she did it.
She does not appear to be quick (by PAC 12 standards), she doesn't have much vertical leap, she is not long in reach, like Sasha, she's doesn't have a lightning fast first step like Destiny....So a lot of things you look for in a star quality player don't jump out at you when you are scouting her game.
But holy hell, does she ever deliver when she's on the court.
I'm having trouble thinking of a player she reminds me of, and no one comes to mind. In a lot of ways she plays like a big, oversized forward who uses her body size and footwork to gain advantage. But, she's not a big forward! She's a perimeter player, with a deadly perimeter game. She gets to the basket and finishes with either hand....Her release is quick, but not pretty and it lacks extension, so sometimes it looks like it was an accident that the ball dropped.
At any rate, she's a good one. A very good one. Those of you who've been around might be able to think of a player whose game resembles Talia's - but I can't think of anyone. GO BEAVS!!

Talia's game sort of reminds me of Luka Doncic. The speed and quickness isn't the key to her game, but it's her strength, her ability to start and stop, and her court vision that will make her great. She sees passes that very few other players do, and I think both her and Greta have a court sense that will lead to better post entry passes for our bigs. Not sure how Adams or some of the other new faces will factor in, but I'm excited to find out.

The one thing that Talia excels in is her basketball IQ. Not many players could pick up on a complicated system like Rueck's in just 4 practices. She didn't just learn one position in that time but positions 1-3.
