DBU knocks a grand slam against us in the 7th inning, and UVA knocks a slam against DBU in the 7th just now to take a 5-2 lead. Yup, baseball sure is a funny game.

The guy who gave up the grand slam threw six straight curves to UVa's No. 2 hitter. Pitch No. 6 is hit over the fence for the granny. Man, mix in a fastball, even as a waste pitch, change the eye level, even left on left. Guy was sitting on another curve.
The guy before the GS, also left on left, hit a lazy, 2-strike grounder to second base. But for some reason the DBU 2B was playing about 30 feet back on the outfield grass and couldn't make what should have been a routine play for the third out.
'Hoos win, and dogpile.

Also nice because of the way the DBU player reacted to hitting the grand slam against the Beavers. The umpire told him to move on and stop showboating. I was unable to see the DBU Beaver game but saw highlights. I assumed that was the grand slam. Anyone know if that is wrong, I stand corrected.

Fun fact:
2021 Virginia is the first team to win six consecutive elimination games in a single postseason since...........
2018 Oregon State won six consecutive at Omaha.
Other teams to have won six consecutive elimination games in a single season in the past 15 years:
2006 Oregon State (six in Omaha) 2008 Florida State (six in Tallahassee) 2008 Fresno State (one in Long Beach, two in Tempe and three in Omaha) 2016 Arizona (three in Lafayette and three in Omaha) 2016 Coastal Carolina (one in Raleigh and five in Omaha)
Oregon State is famously the only team that turned the trick at Omaha twice: 2006 and 2018. Coastal Carolina won five straight elimination games in Omaha in 2016. No one else has won more than four in a single season.
Rice was the last team to win more than six straight elimination games in a single season, winning seven straight in 1999.
Between 2017 and 2018, Florida won seven straight. South Carolina did the same from 2010-2012.
Oregon State won nine straight in 2006 and 2007.
Florida State was the last team to win six consecutive elimination games en route to Omaha. Florida State went 2 & Q in Omaha in 2008.
The team before that was Rice in 1999. Rice lost to eventual champion Miami but rebounded to eliminate Oklahoma State before being eliminated by Alabama.
I am curious to see how Virginia plays in Omah.
