I am likely wrong but I doubt Ober gets drafted. Someone might sign him and give him a chance. Claunch questionable. Really up in the air is Kevin A. What we really need is an All American SS. Likely a new Catcher and a lights out Friday Night Starter. Then 3 more real hitters. Damn is this easy. LOL! Im not sure why any team threw Ober anything other than breaking stuff away

Perhaps my new Fav is Donkey. By far the best Plate discipline on the team. The smile on that kids face after the Game 1 DBU HR was for the ages. However, early Donkey was driving the Ball into left center. Crushing the dang ball. I am wondering if they changed him. The HR's dropped off and BA headed down.

Once he demonstrated he could hit, pitchers adjusted, started going away on him, either breaking pitches or off-speed. The best way to counter that approach for a righty is to go with the pitch and hit it the other way. He finally adjusted to their adjustments. His power dropped, because very, very few hit as hard to the opposite field as they do to their pull field. But his average began to go back up.

I wonder if Burns and Verburg will be back for their senior season other possible Senior leadership roles: McMahan, Claunch, Ober, Sebby. pure speculation: Claunch - drafted? McMahan - other pastures, looking for playing time? I have a sawbuck that Troy Claunch is drafted in the first 10 rounds. He is a high-floor catcher with a great arm, who can hit. He seemed to really come on as the season went on. Someone has a need that Claunch can fill. The Padres drafted Malone in the 27th Round on the off-chance that they could convert him into a serviceable high-OBP catcher. And now, he is playing AAA ball. Claunch only comes back, if he demands fourth round money. Otherwise, I am guessing that he is gone.

Troy has a good arm and his bat came on inthe 2nd half, but he still has a lot of issues blocking balls. He got better the 2nd half of the year, so we’ll see. I think he gets drafted, but maybe in the 10-20 round range.
