The "great" pitching continues with a two-run homer. DBU didn't work that one up with walks. This time, two clean hits. And as I'm typing, a third hit for the inning. And now - yet another pitcher.
Our tank looks empty, big time.

Turn out the light this Season is over. HR kills. Just terrible. I really hope that this ages poorly. |

Remember when Jake wanted the bullpen to be nicknamed the gauntlet ? New nickname, the morning after too many street tacos and cheap beer. Kinda catchy

I just think it has been the emphasis of big arm fastballs that go out faster than they come in, and the pitch tight to move them off the plate mentality!
We need a crafty lefty that can fool the hitters !

They are who we thought they were. I disagree. We aren't the hitters that they are. Our strength was supposed to be pitching. Their bats and patience at the plate outdid our pitching. That's life. |

This is why losing game 1 results in losing the regional 93% of the time. At the end of 5 games in 4 days, our pitching ran out of gas (and many of these guys already had serious deficiencies, which we saw on display at various points. It's telling that Hjerpe came in before Mully today). We have nothing to hang our heads about. Proud of these guys for giving it their all, and going as far as this group of guys is likely to go.
I think our future is bright.
