From Ft. Worth: Rumors persist
Would you be surprised if 23 wants the ball?
Would you be surprised if 23 is given the ball?

In one sense, I would be elated. As other posters have noted, I worry about the elbow. Dorman has been extremely careful about arms so this would be interesting.

There is no doubt in my mind he wants the ball. I think a plan may be to use two other guys to get us to mid game, maybe the fifth, and then bring him in. I don't know anything about TJ recoveries but I'm guessing today is a normal bullpen session for a Friday starter.

Don't be surprised if we see Hamel again. Second time around - he's dead meat.

The thing of it is that you have Scott Cline as the umpire behind the plate, the same umpire who called game one. I do not think that that we see Abel until the Corvallis/Eugene/Greenville Super Regional.

I hope that if we see Abel, it's only 1 inning. I like how Dorman seems to care more about our pitchers futures with not overworking them, and doing more development than Yeskie did. Hurts the Beavers in the short term, but really helps the pitchers be more likely to continue baseball after college with less injuries. Same with having the catcher call the pitch, that will be extremely helpful for our catchers at the next level.
