Congratulations to Grant Gambrell and his team on winning the D1 Central championship in California. He will probably be the Cali POY and possible national POY. Best player on the #1 national high school team. The articles note that he was hitting 94 mph throughout the championship game. Also has a big time bat. 6'4" 225 lbs. And very unfortunately, odds of him showing up at Oregon State next season have diminished to near zero.
Also a big congratulations to Adley Rutschman on his Gatorade POY award. I have never seen him play, but he might be the desperately needed replacement for Logan Ice.

His parents have made it known that it will take 1st or 2nd round slot money to sign. I've seen him projected 4th-8th range.

Rutschman can do a LOT of things, he also hits 90+ pitching, and hits the long ball regularly, was drafted in 40th I think, and probably because it would be hard to sign him if not in the early rounds. Big boy, all state kicker and record holder, 63 yards, and was a great LB and RB too, runs well. OSU hasn't had an all around like him for decades, very special kid, plus a 3.95 GPA.

Wow. Maybe I need to look into getting a cheap little condo in Omaha. The future looks good indeed.
