Kendall Rogers says Casey IS a candidate for the LSU job. Can't imagine why Pat would want to go into that boiler pot of a job, but who knows.
FWIW, I've been surprised in the past how tuned in KR was to Casey's actual intentions.

We do not know. If He does more power to Him. He did a lot more here than any Coach. Really brought Baseball in Northern States to prominence. Very Happy for Him whatever He does. We all may have to eat our words.

I don't know who Kendall is talking to but but he's getting involved with a situation that nobody tells the truth. Athletic Directors and candidates will deny everything and will seed the situation with disinformation, inuendo and deflection.
As far as Casey's interest goes? Who knows but I seriously doubt it. We all know the drawbacks to that job but there is an attractive side to the position.
1. Big Taco$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The SEC has coaches earning over 1.2m now. Casey might command $1.5 or better - it's the SEC and it's a hungry world down there.
2. Facilities. There is an arms race in the SEC- "my yard is bigger than your yard".
3. Recruiting. Homegrown talent from Texas, Louisiana and throughout the southeast, are you kidding me?
4. Operating budget. BIG!
5. It's not a lifetime sentence. Sign a 4 year deal, coach 4 years, resign and come home. Now you have won 4 NC's and you are $6m to the good.

The one reason that I doubt that this happens is his son Jon. Jon is very comfortable here and that is the same reason he didn’t take the ND job years ago, despite the fact that hole fans claim that the 50k per year from Uncle Phil was the sole reason he stayed at OSU.

Bottom line IMHO Paul Mainieri is 63 Pat Casey is 62 Lot's of young dogs out there..why replace one old dog with another old dog? Because that old dog is a proven winner and doesn't lay the pile of turds we are seeing now. |

as far as LSU hiring Paul Casey I will say their is zero chance of that happening.
