Apparently DB stands for Dallas Baptist, I was thinking it stood for something else.

2021 SEASON NOTES
- DBU won both the regular-season and tournament championship in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2021. Since joining The Valley in 2014, DBU has won three regular-season titles (2015, 2019, & 2021) and four tournament championships (2014, 2016, 2017, & 2021).
- The Patriots' Jace Grady was named the MVC Tournament MVP after hitting .412 (7-for-17) with three home runs, a double, a triple, and eight RBI. Grady had one home run entering the tournament before hitting one against Indiana State in DBU's third game and two in the championship game against the Sycamores.
- DBU enters the Fort Worth Regional just three wins shy of reaching 40 wins for the seventh consecutive season. The Patriots began 2021 as one of only three teams (DBU, Louisville, & Florida State) in the nation to win 40 games or more each year since 2014 (excluding the 2020 season due to COVID). With Louisville finishing their year with 28 wins, only Florida State & DBU remain on that short-list entering the postseason.
- DBU's Jackson Glenn was named the Joe Carter Player of the Year in the MVC after hitting a team-best .364 and leading the league in home runs (19) and slugging % (.738). Glenn becomes the third Patriot to be tabbed the top player in the MVC joining Darick Hall (2016) and Devlin Granberg (2018).
- Dan Heefner was named the Dan Callahan Coach of the Year in the MVC for the second time in his career after leading DBU to a regular-season title in 2021. Heefner was also tabbed the league's Coach of the Year in 2016. Heefner boasts a .661 career win % which ranks ninth-best among active NCAA Division I coaches.
- The Patriots placed a league-best 11 players on the All-MVC Team in 2021. Austin Bell (DH), Jackson Glenn (2B), Rhett Kouba (SP), and Peyton Sherlin (RP) were each 1st Team selections, while Jace Grady (OF), Dominic Hamel (SP), Cole Moore (1B), and River Town (OF) were each named to the 2nd Team. Andrew Benefield (3B), Luke Eldred (SP), and Kragen Kechely (RP) were each tabbed as Honorable Mention selections.
- DBU played just eight road games and four neutral site games in 2021. Entering the 2021 season, the Patriots were scheduled to play 28 road games and 27 at home. Cancelations to three road series before the start of the season combined with DBU's series at Oral Roberts being moved from Tulsa to Dallas due to weather and the cancelation of the Patriots' series at Missouri State canceled due to COVID led to a home-heavy schedule in 2021.
DBU IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
- DBU is advancing to the NCAA Regionals for the seventh consecutive year (excluding the 2020 canceled season). The Patriots are just one of six teams in the country to reach the postseason each year since 2014 joining the likes of Florida, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma State, and Vanderbilt.
- The Patriots have reached the finals in each of their last six trips to the NCAA Regionals beginning with the 2015 Dallas Regional. DBU also reached the finals of the Lubbock Regional in both 2016 and 2019, as well as the 2017 Fort Worth Regional and 2018 Fayetteville Regional.
- 10 years ago, DBU won the 2011 Fort Worth Regional to advance to the program's first-ever NCAA Super Regional. In a Fort Worth field that featured two teams that had reached the College World Series the year before in Oklahoma and TCU, the Patriots defeated both the Sooners and Horned Frogs before knocking off Oral Roberts in the finals. DBU eventually fell to California in the Santa Clara Super Regional.
- Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth is familiar territory for DBU in the postseason. In the Patriots' nine trips to the NCAA Regionals, DBU has been selected to play in the Fort Worth Regional four times (2011, 2014, 2017, & 2021). The Patriots have reached the finals in Fort Worth twice (2011 & 2017) and won it all in 2011. DBU is 5-5 all-time in their three previous trips to the Fort Worth Regional.
- DBU joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 2004 and became eligible for the postseason in 2006. During that 15-year span (excluding the 2020 season due to COVID), the Patriots have reached the NCAA Regionals nine times beginning with their first trip in 2008.
