From 2010-2017, Oregon State's season ended:
2009 At the Fort Worth Regional against TCU
2010 At the Gainesville Regional against Florida and Florida Atlantic.
2011 At the Nashville Super Regional against Vanderbilt.
2012 At the Baton Rouge Regional against LSU.
2013 At the College World Series against Mississippi State.
2014 At the Corvallis Regional against UC Irvine.
2015 At the Dallas Regional against Dallas Baptist.
2016 In the West Regional Advisory Committee, the Pac-12's representative being Washington's Lindsay Meggs.
2017 At the College World Series against LSU.
Part of the fun of 2017 was beating Vandy in the Corvallis Super Regional after losing to Vandy in the Nashville Super Regional in 2011.
Part of the fun of 2018 was beating LSU a combined 26-1 in the Corvallis Regional after narrowly losing to LSU in the Baton Rouge Regional in 2012 (and the 2017 College World Series).
Part of the fun of 2018 was beating Washington in the College World Series by nine after overcoming a three-run deficit. That helped to pay Washington back for the 2016 snub.
Part of the fun of 2018 was beating Mississippi State in two games a combined 17-4 after Mississippi State narrowly eliminated Oregon State in the 2013 College World Series.
2021 sets up to be entertaining, because Oregon State is in a regional with two teams of the seven that have ended Beaver seasons in the past 11 years.
Oregon State starts with Dallas Baptist. In 2015, several people thought that Oregon State should host a regional over Dallas Baptist. The Beavers won the opener against Texas 5-4. VCU beat Dallas Baptist 7-2. Oregon State's path to the Coral Gables Super Regional was wide open. Instead, the Saturday games rained out. Dallas Baptist won 8-1 over Texas. In the second game of the day, VCU beat Oregon State 5-1, and Dallas Baptist eliminated Oregon State 7-1 in the Sunday finale. VCU defeated Dallas Baptist 3-1 in the Championship Game to win the right to get smoked by Miami in Coral Gables.
In 2009, Oregon State finished third in the Pac-10 and was sent to the Fort Worth Regional against Texas A&M and TCU. Oregon State beat A&M 9-8. TCU then smoked Oregon State 13-1. The Beavers rebounded to beat the Aggies 13-6. In the finale, Oregon State blew a 4-0 third inning lead to lose 5-4 in walk-off fashion against TCU. The Frogs lost the Austin Super Regional. Texas swept its side of the bracket at Omaha, but lost to LSU in 11 innings. The Tigers broke open a 4-4 game in the sixth to win the National Championship 11-4 two nights later.
A final interesting fact is that McNeese State and Oregon State have played before. In 1991, Oregon State travelled to Lake Charles, Louisiana to play McNeese State as something of a tune-up for the upcoming Louisiana Classic against Louisiana-Lafayette (then known as Southwestern Louisiana), Oklahoma State and Tulane. McNeese State beat Oregon State 6-5 in 11 innings. The Beavers went 1-3 at the Louisiana Classic, only beating Louisiana-Lafayette and losing to Oklahoma State twice and Tulane once.
Of the four teams in a potential Super Regional, the only team that Oregon State has a history with is Virginia, the Beavers beating the Cavs two-out-of-three in the Charlottesville Regional back in 2007. (Oregon State has always won a National Championship after beating Virginia.)
Looking way ahead, the winner of the Columbia and Fort Worth Regionals are paired with the winner of the Eugene and Knoxville Regionals in the opener at Omaha on June 19th or 20th.
