I just clicked on the current box score for the Bowie - Harrisburg game. Both Grenier and Rutschman are two for two with a homer in the top of the fifth. Harrison not in the lineup for the Senators.

Game 2 of their double header is on, Grenier w another HR. That's 3 straight games for Cadyn going deep. His 1st, 2nd, and 3rd HRs of the season. His BA on 5/26 = .151. It's now up to .238. He always was a streaky hitter.

Adley hit one in the second game also. Adley was hitting .220 a week or two ago, now up to .293. He’s in fuego

Happy for Caydn. Always thought his time here was under appreciated. Seemed like the light usually shined on Nick or Trevor or Adley and maybe rightfully so, but caydn’s work at shortstop was one on the strength of that team. To know that every ball hit to shortstop is an out does a lot for a pitching staff. If he can hit .250 he will be a big leaguer

It was still a few weeks before the MLB draft. His first game in Bend, Pat Casey and a couple other other OSU coaches came to the game to schmooze him (i.e. breakfast the next morning). His fielding that summer at SS was unlike anything else previously seen in Bend. I once spoke to him thru the screen during warmups - Me: "thanks for choosing Oregon State" / Cadyn: "I'm thankful they chose me". 3 years (and change) later both he and Nick (who was a high schooler on the Corvallis Knights that summer) became 1st round draft picks. Probably the best two entering freshmen middle infielders in OSU baseball history....possibly all of NCAA D-1. We were blessed as fans.

That streak is the longest since: 2018. Cadyn Grenier hit safely in 27 consecutive games from March 31, 2018 to May 19, 2018. In the process, Grenier ran his .281 average to .345. Oregon State went 21-5-1 on those 27 games. Grenier's 27-game hitting streak is the longest since Jeff Brauning's 31-game hitting streak, which was a Pac-10 record, when it was set in 1989.

The O's sent a C down today and recalled one from triple-A today. Still keeping Adley on the farm to save a year of control while they totally waste a year of possible MLB experience for their best prospect. That's why they are the worst franchise in the AL, rivaling Pittsburgh for the worst franchise in MLB.

Ownership changes have ruined the franchise. Peter Angelos is a piece of crap.

I will contest that "worst" moniker - not to totally hijack the thread but the Cincinnati, we keep one star and trade everyone else after their rookie deals are over to rake in dough on lowball payroll Reds of my heart have had me be wearing a full body wet paper bag for years now. Adley should ask for a trade, at least the Reds would play him.
