Todays Beaver OF, in maybe the most important game of PAC 12 season: Fuchs - Boyd - Meckler. Odds, in February, that this would be the case: infinitesimally small. Beavs up 8-1 top of 7th. Burns in to P. And Fuchs can't run. But the deadwood hasn't produced. So the gimpy guy is an improvement. Henry S. predicted a couple years ago that Meckler would contribute. I thought Henry was full of crap as Meckler looked like a weak, computer nerd. Meckler's arms are now ropes of muscle, and he is obviously a contributor. Meckler is a slightly more athletic Max Gordon. Doesn’t look like he should be out there, but he’s a scrapper that you want on the field. |

One good sign from this series is the starting pitching. Best 3 performances we’ve had in a conference series.

Mully was outstanding. Big win. Monday will be interesting. Beaver pitching can beat anybody if Able Abel, rested Cooper, and Pfennigs are sharp. Just leave all the deadwood on the bench and compete at the plate, IF the Beavers get in.

I think we are in. Two over .500 in a power conference, 12 over overall, lots of road/neutral wins, and they can easily place us at Gonzaga as either a 2 or 3, doesn't really matter.
If we get starting pitching like we did this weekend and for much of last weekend, we're a tough out in a double-elimination regional.

MC made some good decisions on who played today or at least the players who played made his lineup changes look good.
He has given Casey and Ober lots of chances to break out of their slumps. Really like the young guys potential for next year.

MC made some good decisions on who played today or at least the players who played made his lineup changes look good. He has given Casey and Ober lots of chances to break out of their slumps. Really like the young guys potential for next year. Yeah, when you sit down 3 guys that have hit close to or under .100 the last 6 weeks of the season, even .250 hitters can make a big difference, and Derndette and Boyd are significant jumps at the plate. And Army and Forrester showed that they were finally breaking out of slumps. I'd love to believe that somehow Ober, Casey and McMahan could end their 2+ K for every hit last 6 weeks of the season performances, but they just don't seem to have it in them right now. They are great ball players too, which makes it even harder to figure out. |

We definitely needed this win. Beavs are in but we can’t keep going on with one win combined with two losses. Pitching is looking as good as it’s been this year for the starters so maybe we can build off of that.

The Gonzaga regional would be their best chance to advance, but Gonzaga may not host after losing 2 of 3 to San Diego. |

Loved giving some of the youngsters playing time today. Derndette and Boyd especially. Build for the future. Really needed a shot in the arm,and got it today. Several vets have been non productive. Hope some of the youngsters come back for 2022. Add some solid pieces and we could be much improved in 2022.

The Beavs needed this blowout win today. Baseball should be fun, and it has been awhile since they’ve been able to relax and just play.
Season is over. Now (assuming they get selected) they are playing with house money. Could be dangerous for their opponents.
