Wow!! Isn't that essentially the "Heisman Trophy" of NCAA soccer? That's fantastic! P.S. Ironic that he wasn't also voted Pac-12 POY. That went to Stanford's Zach Ryan. (Amanda's listed as a Jr but I suppose he's gone to the MLS?)

It sucked not being able to watch games this year, especially with the new stadium. The good thing is, the 2021 season starts in about three months!

Former Portland Timber Darlington Nagbe won the award in his final season at Akron before joining the Timbers.
As for Amanda, he will return. To be eligible for the MLS Super Draft, you must either - Complete senior year in college
- Be a generation adidas player
- Waived college eligibility by signing to play in a domestic professional league

I would expect attendance at Oregon State men’s soccer games to take a little bump next season. When you got the best player in the country on your team it’s got to help!

Attendance has more to do with game time than with who is playing. Pac-12 Network really messed up the traditional Friday-Sunday schedule and negatively impacted crowds the last couple years.

Well the MLS draft is in January of each year, meaning the next draft will not be until after he concludes his senior season anyway. But Vancouver already owns his MLS rights because he is a product of their youth system, so I don't know how that will impact his decision to return to OSU or move on. I certainly don't think it's a gimme that he'll be back for his senior season. Don Garber likes to make up rules though, there's no guarantee he won't be in the draft pool. Portland lost a player to a rule change like that.

By the way, Gloire Amanda did not return for his senior season and is not on the current men's team. He signed a pro contract with an Austrian club in June. Not a big surprise. Didn't realize this until today and don't think I saw it on the board anywhere. I suppose the fact that news of an OSU student/athlete winning the National player of the year award rates 11 posts (3 of em from yours truly) over 3 months tells you something about the team’s following - on this board at least.
