How come we cannot keep Oregon girls in State ? I get the desire to get away from your home State and to experience life on your own in a new environment - but, the flip side includes those girls that leave and then crave going back home ( Sasha ). I guess it ends up being maturity and family situations ! Wish Vonleh well, but, would love o see 'someone' start a trend of Oregon stars going to OSU or uo !

Lots of them, in fact. And they help us win!

If you were a national prospect, would you stay in dreary western Oregon?

If it was all about location, UCSB should be the best program in the country, followed closely by Pepperdine probably.

I get your point.....all I'm saying is I understand wanting to get out of here.

I get your point.....all I'm saying is I understand wanting to get out of here. You'd expect some prospects want to go away to somewhere new and different, and some would want to be close to home. For whatever reason w/ Oregon HS talent there doesn't seem to be much wanting to stay home. Same thing w/ Washington HS players, although several have found their way down to Oregon. Not really that much of a change for wanting to get away.

Too late to edit my above post. Also if Western Oregon is a place that is so bad everyone local wants to flee, why are players from just about every other corner of the country willing to come there?

Every prospect is different. Each has their own reasons for where they want to spend four years. Brink picked Stanford partially for their education which is elite. Can't compete with that. Others may want a more city environment. Academics? Want to go away for college...a million reasons.

I believe she arrived in middle school when her uncle was playing for the Blazers. Not really an "Oregon" girl with not much of any ties here.
