What a fluke! We had that game. Taking the 2 runs off the board seemed to give Az a lot of momentum and killed us. Damn. Helluva game until that switch in momentum.

They’ve been close in a lot of series but still haven’t won the key game in each series..... this game was there for the taking |

And with Stanford defeating o in extras, Arizona clinched at least a share of the conference title, their first since 2012. And since they have the tie breaker against o, the Wildcats earned the automatic bid.

The boys have made several base running mistakes recently. Meckler's was the ultimate. Mistakes against good teams are a killer. And AZ is a good team (likely PAC-12 champs).... top 10 nationally. On the other hand, there were numerous bright spots in the series loss to AZ. Pfennings and Hjerpe were all that could be asked of a starting pitcher. Claunch & Boyd really showed up. I'm hoping that the Beaver batter who was recently moved to 9th place in the batting order, moves to 11th or 12th or 13th v. Stanford. |

too bad Joe fouled off ball four in the bottom of the 9th. That would've brought an Angry Beaver Meckler to the plate.
