This isn't Beaver news except for the fact that any MLB changes filter to college baseball and the Beavers. Some of the ideas:
Lower mound, Move the mound back, Kill the shift, Get the sticky stuff for grip removed (rules are already present, but enforcement is difficult, Finally, change the strike zone.
Parker commented on the shift kill yesterday. I don't know. It is a pitiful year in MLB for hitters. The Mendoza line isn't far from average BA.
Another thing is that the average MLB game is taking longer to complete even with all the rules to speed the game up. Oh well.

one of the minor leagues is moving the pitcher's mound from 60'6" to either 61' or 61'6" (I think) this year. MLB wants to see what the results are.

Make the mound lower and tighten the ball up

Go to two strikes and three balls. That would speed the game up and cause the pitcher to be more accurate.
