Rasmussen's problem so far is too many free passes. If he can take his control to the next level, he could be scary good. The Rays are stashing Rasmussen in Durham to give him some time to work on his control.

The Rays are stashing Rasmussen in Durham to give him some time to work on his control. Didn't they originally draft him? The Rays drafted Rasmussen with the 31st overall pick in 2017, but the Rays did not sign him, because they thought that he needed a second TJ surgery. Rasmussen had the surgery shortly after the signing window closed, and the Brewers selected Rasmussen in the 6th Round, #185 overall. Rasmussen sat out 2018 and went from A to A+ to AA in 2019. He was called up in August 2020 and has been playing with the Brewers since.

From BA/
Drew Rasmussen, RHP Age: 25
Rasmussen throws harder than Feyereisen, but also has had issues this season with command and control. He’s striking out more than 13 hitters per nine innings, but also walking more than six hitters per nine as well. Rasmussen ranked as Milwaukee’s No. 14 prospect entering the season. He works with a mix of an upper-90s fastball and a high-80s slider. He also has a changeup and curveball in the mix, but rarely throws either. Like Feyereisen, Rasmussen also gets excellent spin on his four-seam fastball.
