I checked my account with the ticket office and see that they are not offering any baseball tickets for sale to me. Since I am a long time donor and baseball season ticket holder I think they would have at least messaged me about ticket availability if they were going to do so. Sad! I’ve been getting tickets this year and I haven’t heard anything yet either for weekend. per my discussions with OSU they are sorting out what allowed capacity will be and where people would now be sitting. Stay tuned.

As of Friday 5/21, 5 Oregon counties shift to "Low": Benton, Deschutes & 3 others. "Low" means 50% occupancy of stadiums is allowed.
Since OHA risk classification is now based on vaccination rate, and those 5 counties qualify as 'low risk', it seems like it wouldn't go 'backwards' (i.e. up to Moderate/High/Extreme).
Good news for: Beavers, Knights, Elks.

No mention whether or not we will get our normal seats (front row next to the visitor's dugout) so we shall see I guess. This will be the first games of the year for us! Edit: Called the ticket office and we will get seats in the outfield instead of inside the stadium. Oh well, better than nothing!

Your regular seats are like Hawaii compared to the centerfield Arctic. Wind is forecast as mild, otherwise, 2 layers of thermals.

so with state and CDC 'no mask' policy....will there be more fans allowed in Goss for the UA series? The attendance has nothing to do with mask or no mask. We are still technically in high risk. That is what is limiting capacity. Why should adults need permission from the nanny state to accept or decline the most widely covered risk of our time? Don't want to risk it for various personal reasons, no problem at all in a "free" country. You can choose to stay home and ponder the risk of inhaling toxic fumes seeping from the synthetic carpet fibers in the back room instead. For those who are vaccinated, have already had covid, or are simply comfortable accepting the risk and want to attend, it is their choice and right in a people governed society.

I didn’t say anything about the necessity of the current regulations. I was just stating what the current situation is for baseball games. You can rant to someone else.

What's the demographic? The 19-30s are still at least half, or more often more than half, of Benton County cases. I do think our numbers are decreasing as more students get vaxxed. Old, retired people. Very high vaccination rate. Good. Destination for young people. The only real reports from tracers is that the outbreak is from small group gatherings. The hospital says age of infected is a heavy trend towards younger with the sick being sicker and harder to treat. What the "younger" means isn't defined. if it is like Benton County, over half the reported cases are in the 19-49 year old age groups - tho this demographic is rapidly getting shots now that they are eligible here. For the foreign students especially I imagine it is a priority because many can't get the vaccines in their home countries as fast, and can't come back to OSU this fall without being vaccinated. The under 19 may be elligible but for so many children the illness is not severe enough to have parents get them tested/parents not wanting to test (lots of disruption in our local schools due to contact tracing), so there are not many in the under 19 category.

Haven't received an email yet.....I really want to go to a game but if it's in the bleachers, I'm ok not making the cut.....I really like our seats near the beer and restroom.....my seat at home has the same amenities.

For those who are vaccinated, have already had covid, or are simply comfortable accepting the risk and want to attend, it is their choice and right in a people governed society. I agree with everything that you said. A free people should always have the right to weigh risks and rewards and make an informed decision to do what they please, as long as they do not hurt anyone else. Ultimately, though, Goss Stadium is owned by the State of Oregon, so the State of Oregon gets to decide how many people have the right to attend. And the State of Oregon is officially in a State of Emergency until June 28, 2021. This sounds like a crazy government overreach to me (and sets a wildly dangerous precedent, in my opinion), but I am sure that the state can point to something that backs them up. If you found a constitutional attorney, you might be able to plead out an arbitrary-or-capricious argument. You should try and attend and be denied and then sue. See what happens. Fight the good fight. Several great Supreme Court decisions (and several terrible ones) started out as similar test cases. As an aside, I was walking around drinking at Phoenix Municipal this past weekend, and I was told that I needed to be masked, whenever I leave my seat, even while drinking. And that is in the much freer State of Arizona.
