A good team does not blow games. A good team does not lose 4 games to yuckville.A good team would take two out of three from Arizona State and sweep usc. Yes we are better than poor teams like uw. I see is being ousted in some distant regional. Friday Night is always tough because of Abel. Take off the glasses folks. I wish we were good, Good teams blow games all the time. The Houston Astros tied for the fifth-most blown saves in 2019 (47 in 162 games!) and won the World Series. And you say we're going to make a regional. Aren't teams that make a regional as at-large selections good teams by definition? |

Yes inconsistent. Just like 99% of the teams in college baseball. Ok, how bout more inconsistent than the good teams? What series win can this team hang it's hat on? None to answer your 2nd question. But coming into the season which of those series did you expect us to win? We've competed and had a chance to win every one. We came into the season ranked about 50th in the country. We've played better than that thankfully. We for sure are not a great team. But we are most definitely an above average team that I believe has a chance to win every single time we step on the field. I'll take that come tourney time considering our chances of even making the tourney before the season started weren't optimistic. |

You write like we are getting blown out game after game even though most of our losses have only been by a point or two. |

I wish we were good, Actually, put your glasses on and look at the actual numbers from a couple of the recent 'terrible' starts for Abel. He has kept the Beavers in the game against quality teams. Definitely not the lofty stats we probably unrealistically expected, but competitive. This Friday will be huge as I expect KA might be overly amped. Anyway, Bill, in an earlier post you noted your optimism has departed. Over the years, I have never seen an even slightly optimistic post you have made. Any optimism must have left the barn years ago. |

I expected about this kind of a record, maybe slightly better, and with more conference wins. The main issue is with how we lose, and who we lose to. I expected much more from this pitching staff, honestly. We have choked against good teams, in big spots. That is reality....we start many games giving up big runs early because we give free passes at an alarming rate...... Now maybe those moments have been teaching moments and made our team more mentally tough......so far that does not seem to be the case....maybe this weekend? |

But the mental makeup of this team, so far, this season, is one of crumbling in the final innings against better competition. Come post season where the stakes are the highest, I'd bet the same thing happens, if I were a betting man.....they have to prove it on the diamond. |

Funny. Accused of bot watching. Defending them from my humble opinion. Amazing. They will not get out of regional playing the way they have to this point.,Some of You guys really say foolish things. Anger is not needed. If they win I will cheer. I just do not expect much. My opinion. Not diiing Coach either. Sheesh.

In a regional anything can happen. Abel has a good day, we are 1-0. Cooper pitches to contact and our defense steals a couple of base hits, we can quickly be 2-0. And we do tend to score runs in bunches, so it is not inconceivable that we run away with a game.
We have been inconsistent, but we have very talented pitching. And one pitcher who is “on” can shut any team down on any given day. I wouldn’t want to bet on or against us.

Why must we be ranked #1 in the nation before we are a good team in some people's eyes. I’d say this years team is decent.... don’t know how many teams play D1... a lot. given our record I’d really question top 10%. and if Beavs don’t win some games last 2 weeks they could be outside looking in. |
