Batya Beard sets school 10K record

I'm guessing that 4 fouls (scratches) eliminates you from further competition (?). Looks like that's what happened to Ann Wingeleth, who is #2 in OS all-time Long Jumps. Great to see Delaney move up to #4 in OS all-time LJ performances.

the long jump was set up in two flights. The first flight is the lesser jumpers and the second is the better ones. Flight one jumpers get three attempts. Then flight two jumpers get three attempts. At that point, the top 10 get three more attempts. Both Delaney and Wingeleth were in flight one. Wingeleth fouled on each attempt and therefore had no mark.

Two more points in the shot, Taylor Crockem takes 7th @ 49-10, almost two feet beyond her PR.

We will have our best chances in the 5000. I think to score in any of the remaining field events will require a huge PB. The 5000 has 46(?) entries right now. Probably 15 of those wont start. All the better runners will have raced already. For instance, the top distance runner in the Pac-12 is probably Ella Donaghu from Stanford (and Grant HS). But she is competing in the 1500 and 800 earlier in the day. I cant believe she will be asked to triple. MItchell and Fetherstonhaugh will be fresher than most. And I expect Beard to run unless she is concerned about injury. The same is true for all the top 10K runners from last night.

When I looked at women's discus, I failed to notice Flight 2 :^) Some darn good throwers in there!
