Matt Boyd went 6IP 0R 5K and left with a 7-0 lead, bullpen gives up 3 in the 8th and now 4 in the 9th to snatch another win away from Boyd. ERA is 1.94 (ridiculous) and has a 2-3 record

Too bad he pitches for such a sucky team. Bullpen totally blew it for him.
That's what you can't go by a guy's win-loss record. There's a lot more important stats to look at.

ERA is 1.94 (ridiculous) and has a 2-3 record Fifth-best ERA in the majors among pitchers with 7+ starts. He gave up three in seven innings to Minnesota and lost 3-2. He gave up one earned and one unearned run against Kansas City in eight innings and lost 2-1. In his last game, he got hurt with two runners on in a tie ballgame and picked up another loss. The Tigers are the worst team in the Majors. If this keeps up, I wonder if another team in contention will finally make the Tigers an offer that they can't refuse. |
