That wasn't the argument - we went 8-2 against the 'teams ahead of us'. The committee chairman was quoted as saying 'they just didn't do well enough against the teams in front of them' which was plainly not true and why Pat was especially pissed off.

"In front of them"... doesn't necessarily mean in the Pac 12 standings... teams we played can be construed as teams that were in front of us... UP, whoregon, WSU, Cal... all non-tourney teams. The beaureaucrat leaves it wide open to interpretation.

we beat ASU 3-0 UW 2-1 Utah 2-1 and got swept by Arizona 0-3. Oregon State also beat Utah once in non-conference, which would push the Beavers' record to 8-5 against Pac-12 teams "in front of" Oregon State. Oregon State's record against tournament teams: Utah Valley 0-1 (Utah Valley finished third in the WAC but won the conference tournament) Minnesota 1-0 (Minnesota enters the Tournament as an at large, having lost to Oregon State on a neutral field with a lower RPI) Utah 3-1 (Series win plus one "non-conference" win against Utah at a neutral field) William & Mary 1-0 (William & Mary finished second in the CAA but won the conference tournament) Arizona State 3-0 Washington 2-1 Arizona 0-3 Total 10-6 The only way I can see the numbers working out is if Casey is not including Arizona.
