I am in computer services along with building them. Over the past week, we have had the calls about, and system repairs from, telephone scam artists and computer scareware hackers go from 3-5 per day to none the first two days of this week. And Monday is usually the busiest day for that type of repair.
Most of these scammers are based out of India, which has a highly educated urban population that speaks English, and a very high unemployment rate.
When those places go silent, you know they are nearing economic chaos.
Also, India makes 2/3rds of the world's generic prescription drugs, and 70% of their precursor chemicals come from China. China has stopped shipping to India, and the Indian drug manufacturers are attempting to shift what capacity they can to some sort of vaccines and treatments for covid.
And 10% of the world's merchant shipping seafarers (sailors) are from India, and those due to rotate home can't, and those who are home can't rotate out to sea.
Pray for them all.
