YAAAAAYYYY!!!
Broke a six game losing streak.
Melancon, Eason and Mazon all pitched. Mazon didn't get the win but a save. If Stanford had come back on her and won that would have been nine straight decisions she would have lost. Glad that didn't happen.
Sadly it's not a conference game.
Stanford actually had back to back hits to start the 7th inning against Mazon. Runners at 2nd and 3rd and the next player hits it back to Mazon and she gives the runner at third a look and she's off too far so they get her out in a run down. The run down took long enough for the others to advance so she could have thrown to first with the same result. The announcer commented how they got the lead runner. Uh, yeah. She did the right thing, just a bummer it didn't result in runners at first and second.
Next hitter hits a grounder to first and Hammoude steps on the bag and throws home for the double play. Nice way to end the game.
Final game tomorrow at noon.
