BUT! There was a notable exception. One team that unmercifully slayed a Cougar yesterday (13-0), got their comeuppance today, losing by 10 runs to the mighty WSU.
Tough conference! A Beaver win today(Saturday) would exactly tie the Beavs with tsdtr.

A Beaver win today(Saturday) would exactly tie the Beavs with tsdtr. It is too bad that they are selecting regional hosts so early. Oregon State needs a win bad. And then probably a sweep of USC. Maybe that gets the Beavers into the hosting conversation. Oregon State is almost out of chances to impress the committee. The schedule is so backloaded, though. In a normal year, 9-4 down the stretch would probably earn the Beavers a one-seed. 8-5 would probably put them on the bubble. Oregon State probably needs to go 11-2 down the stretch to win the Pac-12.

Remember, the Beavs haven't had much love from the polls all season anyway so they needed to earn it on the diamond.....we've essentially beat lesser teams and lost to legitimate competition. That screams 2 or 3 seed to me.

Especially the way they have lost games in the late innings. They aren't going to host unless the committee considers putting a regional where the Beavers are a two or three seed. I highly doubt they would consider it. Yes, it is trending the direction of a three seed.

There's still a lot of baseball to play against good teams. We could completely miss the postseason. In fact, there's a decent chance thats how it plays out. I see furd and ARZ as series losses.....ASU and USC are a toss up.

I see furd and ARZ as series losses.....ASU and USC are a toss up. Arizona and USC are in Corvallis. Arizona is a tossup at worst. Sunken Diamond has been Oregon State's home away from home for the better part of two decades. Also a tossup at worst. Oregon State should beat USC. If Oregon State struggles with USC, I may join you in going all "Danger, Will Robinson." Until then, I will try and remain as optimistic as possible............
