Washington finished with one more conference win. This seems an intentional slight. If you are going to go conference record, Oregon State should be in over Arizona State. If you are going to go RPI, Oregon State should be in over Washington. They beat USC at USC last week and swept UCLA. Arizona State lost to USC at home 6-2 and 31-9 the last two games and took 2-of-3 against UCLA last week. Plus, Oregon State swept Arizona State head-to-head.

Interesting that the AD running the committee (South Alabama) managed to squeek his school in despite a lower RPI.

There is no set criteria each year. The committee makes their own criteria every year.

UW's Meggs was on the committee - that makes sense.

Well that news sucks. Isn't there or should there be a baseball NIT? But there is some redemption to be had. Portland will eventually show that it is a baseball town, and break attendance records all over the place. Click on this link: www.portlandpicklesbaseball.com/ Arlo Guthrie for a variety of reasons needs to throw out the first pitch.

We can play the we should be in over them game all day long but the bottom line is we didn't take care of our own business and left it up to the committee to discuss. I agree with many comments but it is what it is.
Finishing 5th in a conference that was not highly thought of along with getting swept by Zona and Cal (who took a major dump at the end of the year) and losing the series to WSU is ultimately what cost us in my opinion.
That 1-8 is brutal. If the Beavs just go 3-6 or 4-5 they are in.
Time to start focusing on next year with lots of talent coming back. Hopefully this will fuel their fire and they will leave no doubt
GO BEAVS!

We are in a fight here, whether we want it or not. The rpi is the problem. We should start there. The hype machine that is the SEC and ACC in concert with ESPN has stolen the narrative of the sport, and it is being born out in the RPI. If we don't come together on the west coast and fight back against an entire region that is actively gaming the system, intentional or not, things will only get worse.
IMO, until we have something in place that requires enough interplay between the conferences, and for teams to travel between the power conferences, the whole thing will remain illegitimate. The south has taken their ball, and gone home. AND they have been crowned for doing so. Am I the only one with a problem with that?

The fact that we won series against three of the four that got in and played most the conference season without our ace should go along way to have gotten us in. Ask Pat, I'm sure he agrees. The color guy during one of the UCLA broadcasts was pointing out how UO got in before with an RPI of 62 and said it was largely due to Whorton's rep. Does Pat have no rep? In my opinion we are easily dismissed for being an insignificant brand.

I still look at the 1-8 over those three series as what gave the committee the out.
