A 2-game mid-week series is a bit unusual, for both the Beavs and Loyola-Marymount. To this point, the Beavs (26-12) are enjoying a better season than LMU (14-23; 7-12 in conference).
In scanning the last month of activity by the Lions, it jumps out to me that one of their primary starting pitches, CJ Fernandezees (a Junior, I believe), hasn't pitched since April 2, when he left a game after 38 pitches vs. USF (his 7th start of the season). Oddly, he also no longer appears on their Roster.
I bring that up because a 2-game series, mid-week, taxes a pitching staff more than any other component of a roster.

The Beavers as well as a whole lot of other teams were stuck scrambling to fill out their schedule after a few leagues (Big 10 as well as a couple smaller conferences) cut the number of nonconference games.

I wonder if we'll see this guy. Junior Christian Holden. In 26 innings pitched, he's struck out 42 and walked 6. ERA - 0.
