On the recruiting board an article was recently posted about Greta, her h.s. accomplishments, her athletic training regimen, and several other items of interest....Including Coach Rueck's extremely high assessment of her game and her promise. In a nutshell, everything about the article gave me the sense that Greta is likely to be a starter in November, and if not, in January.
If that's the case, we're looking at Greta and Talia as starting guards with an impressive collection of wings and posts to fill out the starting line up......Kennedy Baker, TaylorJones, Taya Corosdale, Ellie Mack and Jelena Mitrovic. That's an impressive cluster of talent.
The addition of Greta - who looks like she has the makings of a 30-minute per game player - may have influenced Savannah's thinking about her court time in the near future. Just a guess on my part. But players don't have to be geniuses to calculate court time. This is especially important to a player who sees herself as being a player of influence in her second season - which very well may have been how Savannah viewed her situation at OSU....
At any rate, if you haven't read the Greta article make sure you do....If she is a game changer, OSU's prospects just got a lot better for next season. If the transfer from SDSU has speed, lots of it, she will add the one ingredient in short supply in the returning players.
I'm not painting Greta as a super-star, I'm just saying she might be the kind of player who makes a big difference on this team.... GO BEAVS!!

Good eye beav6 - my Sunday morning brain has been blunted by Saturday night's lack of brain..... Of course, it's Kennedy Brown.....For some reason "edit" won't let me edit, so it will have to remain "Baker" until I can figure out how to change it.... By the way, I think Kennedy Brown might also prove to be a difference maker for this team next season. Lots of very solid players competing for playing time on next season's roster. GO BEAVS!!

Good thoughts 411500, I've been a huge Greta fan since we first started recruiting her, I call her Mik-like, her work ethic, blue collar approach to the game, etc. I fully expect her to start, especially with Sasha gone. In another thread folks asked when she arrives, I expect it to be back to the norm of June, first week. Last year it was delayed, July, while the schools figured it all out. She is now too old for most AAU I think, 18 now ? So she will be anxious to get going at OSU I imagine.

Greta: 17.8 points, 10 rebounds per game AJ: 17.5 points, 8.6 rebounds per game Alrighty. So 'splain why do some consider Greta to be > AJ, 'xactly? BTW, it's actress Zoey Deutch on the left, Greta on the right. I thought she looked like somebody.... ZoeyGreta

Because level of competition in high school varies an enormous amount, so stats are next thing to useless? That’s certainly a factor to consider, though I’m not sure that those rating AJ and Greta are focusing on that. I think a primary source of ratings comes from exposure in camps and on AAU teams where they are competing against other skilled players. I don’t know to what extent AJ did this but I know Greta got a lot of that kind of exposure. If AJ didn’t get as much of it, we may find that she was very under-rated and that she’s not that far behind Greta.

ZoeyGretaI can tell you why I think Greta is better than AJ based on the film I’ve watched of the 2. Greta has a GREAT feel for the game. She sees passes and has a feel for the game that is uncommon, very similar to Talia in that regard. Also, Greta has a strong frame and I think will be a plus rebounder right from the start. I think AJ will be a solid player for the Beavs, but would have to develop to be an all pac-12 player. My expectation for Greta is an all pac-12 player. Just what I’ve seen from the 2 on film.
