I was not close to Sage, but many posters on the board were close or enjoyed his posts. Another sad day. Sage's posts had been few over the last couple of months, so it was obvious that his health was declining.

Damn. Felt close to Sage as the baseball team made its run in 2018. I will miss him! Life is too short. Be good to each other. (Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. I’m guilty.)
Hope his wife and family have strength and peace.

No!! That is very sad. Seemed like a great guy, someone I would have loved to have met in person, outside these sports boards. I’ll miss his interactions. It would be great if someone close to him could post a link to his obit. I’d be very interested to hear his story.

I knew Dave a bit. Sorry to hear of his passing. I know he and his wife have sure had their medical problems the last few years.
RIP Dave.

Met sage and desertbeaver many years ago when I lived in Bend. lots of good people over that way and even though I haven't seen him for some time I will still miss his posts. Many of those I met use to post on pure orange. I miss that site. Too many of those never post anymore. Sage and I shared our military time in Vietnam. RIP soldier....

He was a great guy and I loved talking to him at tailgate parties or online. I had the highest respect for him as a person, for his service to our country in Vietnam, and his love for the Beavers. I recall that Dave was also active in the Bend Elks Lodge in retirement among other interests.
The folks that didn't get Dave missed out - perhaps because they had no sarcasm detector or no sense of humor and took his posts at face value.

Rest in Peace, Sage! He was one of my favortie posters since the Pure-Orange days. The Board will be just a little less cool than it used to be.
