Coach T mentioned this in a livestream discussion with Mike Parker a day or two back. Seemed to think it was a case of Warith wanting input on what he needs to work on to get drafted next year and that Warith is still planning on returning.

He needs to get up about 500 shots per day. Develop a consistent jump shot and he has a chance to make it.

Would be a terrible headline to read?

My bet, which would not win me 20 G's if I laid down a Benjamin like someone did on the Pac-12 tourney run, is that this is a pro-forma process that past Beavers have gone through to find out how they measure up now and what the pro evaluators think another college season will get them. Warith is a big-time hoopster in the making - you can learn how to shoot better, you can gain more basketball IQ, but you can't learn the type of talent he brings to the table. He will learn and develop a lot more playing 35 minutes a game against top flight Pac-12 players than trying to get precious minutes in the G-League where it is every man for himself.

I see this as a good thing. He will likely get a reality check in the process, rather than a sales pitch from an agent. He wants to be a 3 at the next level from what I understand (and physically probably needs to be), and he has a lot of game to develop to be that, even at the D1 level.

Saw tweet that he is returning to school. The tweet just cited “sources,” so not sure if official yet.

If he can't hit a three as a 3 & D (plus rebounds) guy then he will be destined for the Euro League or G-League. If we have Calloo and Warith as legit 3 point threats next year the offense will be beastly.

It would be nice if he can add that to his arsenal, but certainly don’t want him floating around the 3-pt line all game. His intermediate and inside game as well as offensive rebounding is too key to the teams success. But if he can step out and hit a 3 to keep teams honest, it will certainly help the team.

I don't think it's possible to develop that over a summer. If he could be consistent with 12 to 14-footers off the bounce it would be a nice step forward.
