I'm surprised Melton isn't starting to appear higher on these rankings

Oh, that's right, 2020 does count despite the so few games played. Looked at his bio, and it just says "Sophomore". Wish there was a pretext indicating despite being a Sophomore, this is his third season.

I have a dumb question. What are the odds KA stays for another year. I don't see anyone else on the roster being drafted. Melton? A couple could sign like Armstrong, Ober but it looks like they will be getting a bag of Popcorn or $10,000 max. Just saying.......

I see plenty of scouts in the stands, I don't think they're Beaver fans. Probably there to watch; Dukart Ober Melton Salgado Pfennigs Frisch Watkins Abel It's not too late but Casey, McMahon, Army, Sebby, Townsend can go on a tear and get the opportunity.

Tyree Reed dropping that low is somewhat a surprise. One possible reason is that his financial demands are known to the draft analysts. He is an excellent student according to all reports and might be saying he takes high, first round money or he is going for academics with baseball. I obviously don't know, but the possibility is exciting. Speed, arm, glove, developing, but decent bat, gifted mind.

Scouts have some concern over his bat and serious concern over the lack of power for an outfielder. Arm, glove and speed are all + grades - his stick is the issue.

I don't really like his swing at all at this point. What I see is correctable, but I'm not surprised scouts aren't 100% sold. I feel like his power is projectable to 25+ home runs and even if he doesn't get there, with his speed he can definitely stick in center. That said, with his current swing, I don't think he'll make great contact against higher level competition. I think he could definitely benefit from college and I understand he's a really bright kid that likes school, so maybe he does end up on campus. I wouldn't be stunned at least.

At this point in time, less than 60 days from the draft, Reed is probably better than 50-50 to wear a Beaver cap next year. If he isn't called in the first two rounds, we're looking good.
He has career aspirations outside of baseball and if memory serves me, I believe he has a 4.0 GPA.

I figure they’re watching the whole team. Obviously, the arms we have deserve a look, but they could be scoping out the rest of players to see who should be on their short list...this season or the next. I figure if we can bring back a core of these players for next year, it could be a very good year.
