Right now, Arizona, Stanford and Oregon should be hosts. Arizona just removed all public mask restrictions. Stanford is private. The game at Petco was packed on Sunday. If the count is right, there could be a ton of people at Sunken Diamond. Oregon has a lower count than Oregon State. I could see them all hosting. Oregon State's resume is not host-worthy currently. We have to fix that side of it before we start worrying about the attendance side. Stanford is still only allowing family and some students to games. They have very restrictive policies. They also have nothing to do with Petco. Really? Stanford nothing to do with Petco? You don't say. And how big was that catfish you caught? What a tale! Thanks for letting me know. In that case, I think that the West probably gets two host spots max, unless Gonzaga or Oregon State can get into the low 20s in RPI by the second week of May.

Well, you're the idiot that thinks Stanford being private has any bearing on their ability to have fans......or to violate their county's covid restrictions.

I root for two teams. The Beavs and whoever is playing the quacks.....FTd I agree with the general sentiment. But rooting against Oregon is rooting against Oregon State at this point, cutting off your nose to spite your face. I understand the logic, but my hatred for all things duck isn't rooted in logic.....it's rooted in them being the evil empire.

Yep.....ucla will be a huge test at the end of a long road trip. I think they'll be ranked fairly high too, as I think go into eugene and take that series. It is probably better for Oregon State's case, if Oregon sweeps UCLA. The three games with #49 RPI UC Irvine will be very important. .....nope no way no how do I want the Ucks to sweep UCLA..... I’m okay with the discussion about UCLA being in the drivers seat even if that hurts us .....we’ve been in the national discussion for a couple of decades now and that’s the only school I want from this state doing that

Only time I will ever pull (excuse me - want the ducks to win) for the ducks is if it is at the end of a season and the ducks need to win for the Beavers to win a championship. I trust they will self-destruct on their own.

Never hope for the ucks to win, always hope for the other team to lose and not mention who they are playing.

I WOULD want them to "not lose" in that scenario, but I would still not feel bad if they did lose.

I WOULD want them to "not lose" in that scenario, but I would still not feel bad if they did lose. The scenario I want has nothing to do with Power 5 "stat geeks," creating a system that is advantageous to their respective conferences. I'm glad the RPI is out there, but if we take care business in the Pac(finish 1st or 2nd) it really doesn't matter, we host a Corvallis Regional. (Corvallis Regional and Super Regionals are historically our best bet to getting to Omaha.) Does it matter this year anyway? Covid hysterians are a "dime a dozen" on the West Coast, so hosting doesn't seem likely, regardless of our record. I want UCLA to destroy duck baseball next weekend. Then I want us to roll into Jackie Robinson Stadium and put a beat down on the Bruins. Some people are logical strategic thinkers(see multiple posts by Wilky) others aren't so "enlightened. "( Like me) We have room for both the logical and stubborn Beaver fan😀

In breaking news, Stanford just cancelled the next four games, because of coronavirus. Does anybody know if the cancelations at Stanford are because of Covid issue on Stanfords team or the visiting team they were supposed to play? Also do those missed conf games get made up at some point or just lost now?

Well, you're the idiot that thinks Stanford being private has any bearing on their ability to have fans......or to violate their county's covid restrictions. In breaking news, Stanford just cancelled the next four games, because of coronavirus. Three games against Washington, one against The Pacific. Huskies already got New Mexico to play a series in Seattle for this weekend. This will make the loss column watch interesting going forward. If the Cardinal finishes this season with only two fewer losses than the team who has the fewest losses who played a full 30 game schedule (OSU 20-10, Stanford 19-8 for example), despite the Cardinal finishing 0.5 games behind, they may win the conference title via winning percentage.

The one thing that stands out to looking at baseball America rankings is the Beavs are 1-5 against top 25 ranked teams basically the only team we have played has been the Ucks. We need that win-loss ratio to head the opposite direction if we have any hope of hosting I don't think we host even if we were to go undefeated the rest of the way. First, applications to host had to be in a week ago, not even sure we applied. Second, the naming of host sites will be done the first week in May. Look for those host sites to be in locations that have been friendly to allowing fan attendance at games. To add on to this, LSU at Ole Miss is on right now with a full house and not a mask in sight.
