A lot of upside since he was highly regarded out of HS. But.....I’m not gonna lie.....center is the last position I thought we’d be getting when I heard we were getting a new transfer

Story does say he played sparingly first season due to leg injuries.. so he's really only had one season of playing.. will see if he can make a leap forward The fact that a big guy like him has already had leg injuries concerns me. Maybe I'm still traumatized from Greg Oden. I split season tickets with some buddies Oden's first couple of years in the league. The dude who sat directly in front of me would shake his head and mutter "DURANT" to himself at least 3-4 times every game. Sometimes it was an angry version, sometimes it was a sad version, but you could set your watch to it.

I like his chances of developing significantly here. Assuming Ethan is not returning, I’d really like to see a guard transfer in. We've got to be looking for some PG depth right? Not sure I'm ready to hand the keys over to Gianni and watch him dribble in circles for 30mpg.

Davis is a very nice option too... ahh - thanks I totally forgot about him. Was thinking of the Farleigh Dickinson transfer who appeared to be more of a SG. Nevermind then. . carry on Wayne. (carry on Garth).

Do I understand that correctly? He's averaging 120 points per 40 minutes played in 21 conference games?

According to his game logs he was throwing up 11-21 shots a minute most of the season. That would explain all the rebounds.
Statistician error.

I think playing with a traditional center, like Silva, gave some of our opponents a lot of trouble this year. If this guy can be even better, he's a plus. Nice to have a 7-2 rim-checker out there.

I wonder if this means we’re going to try more sets w twin towers (Tucker or Andela in w one of the 7 footers). Either that or someone is leaving or someone isn’t playing much

Every NBA draft I watch, when it gets to Portland making a pick, I shout at the screen "If you are a center and you are drafted by Portland, be afraid, be very afraid."

Not a lot of programs interested in back-to-the-basket bigs. Seems like we might have a niche here.

Not a lot of programs interested in back-to-the-basket bigs. Seems like we might have a niche here. Doesn't appear to be as much of a low post, back to the basket guy as his size would indicate seeing Turgeon's comments on him.
Comments about his play style are a little further down the article.
