Remind me again why these students are getting another year?!?! Because they missed last season's post season?? Mack could end up playing almost 170 games in her 6 year career... good for her, but all Tudor was asking for was to play half of her fourth season. Another slap in the face from the NCAA to Tudor. Between allowing all these transfers to have immediate eligibility and giving player a 5th and 6th year.. I think NCAA made a big mistake Mack will play for five years, not six. She missed her entire true freshman season at Bucknell with an injury, so she would have been able to play in 2020-21 even if Covid never happened. She's getting one extra year, just like everyone else, which is about as fair as fair can be. And she'll leave OSU with her MA degree. Good on her. Yes, the NCAA cheated Tudor out of a year of eligibility. But her case, and Mack's case, are apples and oranges. I'm constantly amazed at how some can always find the negative in a positive development.

wbosh15 - good info and good research.... One point, in addition to your % info, is that Mack never really looked very hard for her shot this year. She definitely did not have a green light from Rueck - which indicates, to me, that she is not knocking down her 3s in practice....With her size and savvy she easily could have found 3 or 4 more shots per game if she was encouraged by her coaches to find them. Shifting gears: How long did it take for coaches to figure out Talia could shoot, and to give her a free hand to find her own opportunities? About 48 hours. So, if in March Mack is still being hesitant in her shot there is something to figure out. If she can get up into the 40's next year, and earn the green light from Coach, that will be a big help to this team - scoring wise. And, as near as I can tell, this team is gonna need a lot of scoring help next year.... GO BEAVS!! That she didn't have the green light is a possibility, but to me I don't think that was the case. I think with her personality, and the personality of a lot of the players on this team, they are very apt to "pass-up" open shots and keep moving the ball. And to me, Ellie's biggest issue was just trying to quiet her self-doubt of can she play at this level. It's certainly a jump going from Bucknell to the Pac-12, and I think she tended to defer more often than not offensively. I think the coaches know all of the girls can shoot, but I think it's the mentality of the player that will determine sometimes who's willing to take a shot. Talia is fearless, it's one of the things I like most about her game. Some players are naturally a little more hesitant. At least that is how I've looked at it. I think most players I've seen at OSU have tended to be too passive offensively instead of too aggressive. That being said, we aren't (or at least most of us aren't) at practices so perhaps she was given a "yellow" light. Great to hear your perspective and it was something I hadn't thought about. Regardless, I'm glad Ellie is back for another season, and I'm hoping she get's to experience a full Gill next year, because I know there is NOTHING like that in the Patriot league.

Ellie's return next season is a real positive. With today's addition of Tea, the Beavs will be able to play both Great and Ellie at the 3 spot. I think we'll see a much better Ellie next season with a year in the Pac-12. Admittedly I expected more production from her this year, but still I expect she will be much more ready for Pac-12 play next season. Just a little note here to show us all what Ellie can do from 3, there was a period of seven games this year....Washington, Colorado, Utah, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Oregon...where Ellie shot 23-46 (50%) from 3.

I also doubt Ellie didn’t have a green light. But when you have two players that shoot almost 50% from 3, it can get in your head that you shouldn’t be taking those.

As an OSU grad working back here in PA - not too far from Bucknell U., I was thrilled last year when I learned last year that Elllie Mack was going to play for my school. I think you guys have made some great observations about her in this thread. At times I thought she looked a little lost out there on the court as she adjusted to PAC-12 play, but there are many other times - especially late in the season - when her excellent play was absolutely critical to some key wins.
6'3'' tall, plays multiple positions, tough as nails, and super smart. Looking forward to a strong OSU encore year for one Ellie Mack!

Her game improved as the season went on. And that was a hell of a season to transfer in, so many stops and starts. I look forward to watching her next season

Yeah we need help only two players return that scored in double figures. And one was a senior in high school. Ha But that team will have a great defensive player in Brown she will give fits to Stanford's inside game. Can hardly wait

You know, I really hope we get a big, big crowd at Gill for the season opener in November to give all the new and returning players the welcome they came to Oregon State for, but especially Ellie. May she have the time of her life playing in front of more people than have ever seen her play before.
Our home opener in 2017 (North Dakota) drew 3,737; in 2018, it was 4,468 for Cal Poly, and in 2019, 5,404 for UC Irvine. I'd sure like to see 6,000 + this year!

Ellie has not shot very effectively from ANY level as of yet. I haven't watched her enough to make a judgment as to why she came into the program as an acknowledged shooter, and then couldn't find a shot in her first year at OSU.... The usual explanation is that she had trouble adjusting to tougher competition. I hope that's the correct answer because if it is we can reasonably expect some improvement next season. She is a tough kid who likes to muscle and hustle. If she can truly develop a dependable 3-point shot she will be a solid asset to this team. She's not quick by any stretch of the imagination, but she's rugged and that counts for something. At any rate, I'm glad she's decided to invest another year in the program - it should pay good dividends. GO BEAVS!! My how we get spoiled. Last year in half of the Pac-12 teams Mack would have been the top or next best 3 pt shooter.
