Swing and miss still a K even if hits him...but hitting him still a dead ball. Bad luck but in theory ball doesn't kick off if doesn't hit him either....need McDowell to clutch up!

Passed ball on a swinging third strike allowed a run to score and batter made it safely to first. Then after a conference, batter was called out and runner from third sent back?

It must have hit him in the foot, making it a dead ball. But because he swung, he committed, and thus a swinging strike.
