I think we need 4 guards/wings in the portal to feel ok with any potential injuries. I'd take one forward potentially but they would really have to be high level. What are your guys' thoughts on it?

First of all I don't understand why rueck doesn't go with 13 scholarship players on the roster. That in itself would allow for injury, transfer, etc... But yes guards are a necessity. Other than TVO is there another on scholarship? Kind of puts us back where we were a year ago after slocum left...scrambling for a guard.

Greta is a wing but she has better pick and roll/playmaking skills than SS or Sasha had. However that's still only 2 guard/wing players when most teams play a 3 guard line up.

Why not 15? Budget constraints?

Why not 15? Budget constraints? I think it's been mostly a preference for Rueck not wanting to have too many bodies and certain players not getting much playing time. However, with the increase in players transferring the limited numbers are proving challenging. Congrats on the National Championship BTW!

As of the moment, we have 2 posts (Jones and Mitrovic), and Brown can fill in there if needed. So we're covered there. At the forward spots, we have only Brown, Mack, Corosdale, and Subasic - thin, but 4 bodies. At the guard position, we have Von Oelhoffen, Kampschroeder, and Mannon - 2 freshmen and a walk on.
I'd look for one forward and three guards, and would put the emphasis on underclassmen at both spots. We have two more post/forwards coming in the following year, but only one guard thus far. We need players who will be here a while (a while being defined as more than 20 games).
That following year, Mack and Subasic are gone for sure, and one would think Corosdale as well. So we'll be looking for more help at the forward spot in that class.
We are currently in a crappy position. All the players who would normally constitute next year's senior class are gone (Morris, Simmons) or not playing (Aquino); all the players who would normally constitute next year's sophomore class (Goforth, Samuel, and Faustino) have left the program. That's 2 classes completely decimated.
Ironically, I have always thought Scott deliberately kept the roster to a minimum in order to give all the players the best opportunity to get minutes. Now that has bitten him in the butt.
In any event, I remain very confident that the coaching staff will do a more than adequate job of addressing both short term and long term needs, and the program will continue to succeed.

Are we really expecting Subasic back? Wasn’t she a Senior?

When you run it down like that, things 'appear' to be very messy ! Look at how uo fell after the pao pao injury ! I like to think of things like ; Brown - one forward Jones - Center / backup Mitrovic Corosdale - one forward Mack - another forward TVO - guard Greta - Guard Subasic - forward Rueck pickup - small, fast, dynamic , guard that can penetrate and hit the three's
I have always felt that we needed 15 ( ( maybe it is time to give up on Acquino ). That means, we need t least 7 new high level recruits from 'anywhere ' , that can hit the ground running! With so many in the portal , we need to find some gems in the portal and from International teams. Samuel should not have left, purely from a playing time standpoint ! But, as usual - wish her the best ! How much longer ( closing date ), before the transfer portal obsoletes ?

I just listed those who were on this year's roster, could come back if they wanted to, and have not indicated any intent to do otherwise.

And what if Mack and Subasic decide not to return? Leaves us with 6 scholarship players and Noelle Mannen. I think it will be extremely difficult to find 2 or 3 "contributors" from the portal, let alone 5 or 6.
The coaches need to do a masterful job finding replacements. This off season will be interesting to say the least.

The immediate need is a combo guard and a wing who can play the two or three. That is the bare minimum needed, and with 1000 players in the portal, it won't be hard to find those two players. It may be difficult to get two with the talent you desire, but the Beavs will find two players for sure.
If you land those two, you have two who can play point (Talia and the new addition, plus Noelle sparingly) and 4 who can play the 2 spot (Talia, Greta, and the two new additions) and four who can play the three spot (Greta, 2 new additions, and Ellie...for a stretch, you could play Talia here or even Taya or Kennedy when you want to go big). You have 4 who can play PF (Taya, Kennedy, Ellie, and Jovana) and you have 4 who can play center (Taylor, Jelena, Jovana, and Kennedy).
So...Minimum of 2 additions are needed, and hopefully those are experienced transfers or some talented International player or High School player that just happens to come available.
Beyond those two, a couple more, preferably another transfer guard/wing, and a High School guard/wind would be needed additions for depth purposes. I did see that BH is following a transfer who is 6'4' who I wouldn't consider a wing, so the Beavs may be looking at a bit of everything, but the numbers tell us depth is needed at guard. They will land a few players, so it will be fun keeping an eye on who they land. Go Beavs!!! This is a challenging off season for sure.
And all those thoughts above, don't even consider losing any other players.

Need another point guard for sure. TvO isn't going to play the entire game.
