56 might have this answer, but I think Cole Hamilton might be nicked again. Changes everything in the catching rotation. Cole Hamilton.....broken hand out a minimum of 3 more weeks. Oddly, that seems like a huge blow.

Armstrong never should have sac bunted with two on and nobody out in the 4th. They then just walked Melton and a 4-6-3 DP ends the inning. We had the lead, it wasn't late, we took the bat out of our top two hitter's hands and got nothing. Let your hitters hit.

That DP play was nearly a hit up the middle which would have likely scored two, ball was well struck and the 2nd baseman made a hell of a play. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Our lack of execution in the top of the fifth cost us the game, period.

That’s it! I’m giving up on this team. They suck!
(Hey, it worked for basketball!)

Catcher play, and free passes by pitchers will be the demise of this team, if anything is......gotta clean that s%#t up For the 1st 26 games pitchers have issued 92 walks, hit 34, and have moved those free runners over with 29 wild pitches. Add in 7 passed balls, and that is a lot of free bases.

But I can see losing some conf series down the stretch, if these issues aren't addressed.

You have more than legitimate grounds to question those WP vs PB stats.
I have been amazed at some of the recorded WP that were clearly by rulebook definition, passed balls.
Troy can't catch the baseball, that's no secret. The ball is on the deck way too often, he has problems with anything above the letters/shoulders and on occasion can't get the ball out of his glove to make a throw to a base. Slow reaction time shifting his body and feet to catch an errant pitch. Going back to last year I have wondered about a complete eye exam. It isn't all that unusual for someone to have a vision problem and be be unaware of it.
Unfortunate because it detracts from some good skills he does have - good leadership, pitch calling, handles his pitchers, and a decent framer. However, blocking and catching are fundamental to playing the position well.
Ouch!
