OSU released their game notes for the weekend and the starters are listed as:
Thursday - Washburn
Friday - Abel
Saturday - Hjerpe
I thought it was weird that Pfennigs didn’t get the start Monday, but thought it could be due to there only being 5 days till Saturday’s contest against Utah. But, seeing this makes it pretty clear that he’s out with some kind of injury.

The entire pitching rotation, including relievers, makes total sense now. As I conjectured during the last WSU game thread, something was wrong with Pfennigs. He was lights out. Low pitch count but pulled. He seemed to be stretching his back more between pitches. His arm looked great. He just usually gets the ball, steps on the rubber, and is ready to pitch. He was taking an extra second with body stretching it seemed to me. I know absolute squat, but I was concerned during that game.
His last 2 starts were just outstanding. Hopefully nicked and not seriously injured.

Bummer. Hope he's back soon, but at least we have a lot of depth.

He must be hurt. Hopefully it isn't anything serious. And as cake just mentioned good thing we have great depth on the bump
